Why test?
As a student you are embarking on a journey for your future. Your family are investing in your future. You wish to do your best!
Do not be concerned if you are required to undertake an educational assessment test for entry into the school of your choice. Whether the school is an Australian, New Zealand or a United Kingdom school makes no difference. The assessment test provides informative information to a school so the school can be sure it is able to provide an appropriate pathway and support for any bridging English that may be required prior to your entry.
RESULTS DO NOT INDICATE A PASS OR FAIL.
RESULTS SIMPLY PROVIDE A REPORT ABOUT YOUR ACHIEVEMENT AND ABILITY LEVELS.
THE TEST RECOGNISES THAT ENGLISH IS
NOT YOUR FIRST LANGUAGE.
What is the cost?
The cost of the test is AUD$525. It may be less if you are already 'onshore' in Australia, New Zealand or the United Kingdom as the school is able to supervise the testing for your entry. However, if you are overseas, the trusted Agent of the School will organise your testing registration and delivery and supervision of the test.
Payment of the test needs to be made to the Agent before the Agent can register you for your test. An iSTARTOnline-EDUTEST receipt will be provided to your family by the Agent when payment is made.

Trust your Agent.
Your agent is experienced and understands what you need, your family needs and what the school they represent needs.
You need to trust your agent's advice. The agent is in close contact with the school and will be providing you with the responses and advice coming directly from the school.
Schools need to assess your english, mathermatics and also know how you think, how you reason and how you approach problem-solving. This is why Abstract Reasoning is one of the modules you will undertake. It is an important part of the test. Your grades may be weak because of a number of factors. Abstract Reasoning will provide a school a clearer indication about how you learn and your potential to learn.
Trust the School.
You have selected your school because you felt it was the 'right' school for you. You now need to allow the School to provide your learning pathway.
Just as you trusted your agent to assist with your application and submission after explaining to you about the options of many schools, you now need to trust the School to provide you an appropriate pathway direction to improve your english and academic learning potential. The assessment test alows the most appropriate entry pathway for you.
Your agent who will register you for the iSTARTOnline test and supervise your testing has been approved to do so by iSTARTOnline and Edutest.
UNDERTAKING THE TEST
Please don't be worried about undertaking an assessment test.
Importantly, you should remain relaxed as you undertake the test, focus on the questions, do not rush and if you cannot answer a question, leave it and go back to it later. The tests are timed and a clock is visible at all times on screen so you will know how much time has expired or is remaining. It does not matter if you do not answer ALL the questions - this is normal.
